How to ask questions.

This is just a short post I can link to people who ask questions in ways that I find very frustrating. When you are asking someone a question you’re essentially asking them for help but yet most people make giving that help more difficult.

If in your question you include all of the following it will not make it much longer but it will make it much more comprehensive and actionable. Remember the old irc adage. don’t ask to ask, just ask.

• what problem exists
• what do you want to achieve
• how do you ideally want it to work
• don’t be vague if you can be specific
